On Site Hardware and software support
Got a problem that stops you working? We are able to deal with most hardware problems on site, or in the case of severe hardware problems, We normally are able to get the offending PC back to a working condition within 1 working day. We also deal with most Microsoft software issues, but may charge extra for liasing with third party software suppliers.
We don't depending on other companies for our clients webhosting, we took the finest hardware components and built our own server farm which is primarily housed in Maidenhead, Kent. We took the decision to build our own servers rather than lease them because it means our service response time is vastly improved as we are not dependant on others to fix mission critical hardware. We wont palm you off on waiting for an Indian call centre to come back to us, as it is Mike who personally maintains the server and deals with any issues, and he lives in Benfleet. We utilise online backup software to communicate with all our customers at the end of every day and takes a full system backup. In the event of a major catastrophe, rather than re-download this data through the internet, Mike would drive down to kent and bring the data back with him, and you cant get more personal than that.
Network and System server installation
We have pots of experience in server, workstation and network installation. Brook Systems carry out all our network wiring to an extremely high standard. With a correctly configured network and server you should be able to seamlessly do at least the following:
- Fax, email and print from any computer
- Access your computer and email remotely from anywhere in the world
- Centralise and share information
We build our own servers normally using supermicro chassis, server class Hard drives and Intel Xeon processors. Several hard drives are arranged in a mirror raid configuration which allows the server to keep going in the event of one of the drives failing.
Our PC's are built around Intel core 2 duo processors and can also incorporate raid configurations for really important people in your organisation.
Virus and Spyware removal
We recommend the use of SOPHOs antivirus on all our networks. In the event of major Trojan or spyware infestation, we tend to use a combination of anti spyware software and manual checking of the registry to physically 'hack out' the offending lines of code that are causing the problem.
Network maintenance
There are lots of things we can do to speed up networks and local PC performance.
Cost effective solutions include installing more RAM into workstations (1 Gig should really be a minimum), installing 1000Mbs network cards and hub/switches. An organised and tidy file system always helps as does the absence of software on the PC unless it is absolutely necessary to the function of the pc.
